Community Lunch

This Tuesday, join together for lunch with friends in the Jewish community. Open to all! This week's theme will be cozy - warm food and drink plus a cozy energy. Stop by to beat the winter blues!
The Ring Family Film Festival: Forget Baghdad
Nov. 20, 8pm, Hallock Auditorium

A filmic reflection about the stereotypes of "Jew" and "Arab" through 100 years of film contrasted with the history of Jewish communists from Iraq. The protagonists are Shimon Ballas, a writer and professor of Arabic Studies in Tel Aviv and Paris; best-selling Israeli author Sami Michael from Haifa; Moshe Houri, a former dealer in real estate; writer Samir Naqqash, who publishes only in the Arabic language; and Ella Shohat, a professor of film and cultural studies in New York, who has written a standard text on the Israeli film industry.
Pizza will be served at 7:30 p.m., immediately before the movie.

For anyone interested in talking about or learning about Israel, we are offering opportunities to meet up with Roni, Oberlin's Israel Fellow. Sign up at this form, and Roni will be in touch about making an appointment.

Amir Farmers 2019
Amir is a nonprofit organization that runs garden education programming at summer camps across North America. We are seeking applicants to be Amir Farmers and Farm Managers for Summer 2019. The organization works with both Jewish and non-Jewish sleepaway camps across North America to run garden education programming, teaching campers about food systems, environmental issues, and more. Check out the application here.
