Join together for a community-filled Shabbat experience, starting with services at 5:30pm, in honor of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day). We will integrate some reflections into our service. This will be followed by a delicious dinner at 7pm.

The Youth Engagement Program Director is a new position at the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester. This person will:
help foster a culture of welcoming and acceptance across the community without sacrificing their institutional identity.
manage all aspects of youth programming
Candidate will have the following qualities: a “People Person,” someone with an “I can attitude,” an innovative thinker and a creative problem solver, excellent written and verbal communication skills, Jewishly knowledgeable and supportive of the diversity of Jewish life, ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a team.

Ramah Galim - Camp Ramah in Northern California is Jewish Overnight Specialty Camp located on the beautiful beaches of Monterey Bay. Our programming focuses in three core specialty areas: ocean exploration, performing arts, & outdoor adventure with integrated Jewish Education and community building. Campers who attend Ramah Galim develop their skills as they follow their passions and build lifelong friendships.

The Zeitler Fellowship is a cohort of young adults who are exploring their roles as participants and emerging leaders in their Jewish communities, and who are new to the National Havurah community. In addition to enjoying all of the programming and learning the Summer Institute has to offer, Zeitler Fellows will have opportunities to reflect on building, sustaining, and participating in their Jewish communities both within and outside of the National Havurah Committee. To apply for the Zeitler Fellowship, you must be between the ages of 22 and 32, interested in exploring lay-led, participatory, independent Jewish community, and willing to participate fully in the Summer Institute.
College Students in their first three years and others in this 18-21-year-old age group are invited to apply to become NHC Ma’avir* Fellows at the 2019 National Havurah Committee Summer Institute. The Ma’avir Fellowship reduces tuition and fees for eligible participants to $100. The Fellowship can support you in connecting with and reaching out to campus or local organization(s). A grant to assist with travel expenses may be sought if travel presents a financial difficulty. Ma'avir Fellows will: be part of a multigenerational and transformative Jewish community, experience Jewish learning and grassroots Judaism through diverse perspectives, learn tools to bring to your home communities.
