Thank you Mrs. Fugit!

All of us at GCA want to say a huge thank you to Mrs. Fugit for everything she has done for our school over the years. throughout her time with us. Throughout her time with us, she blessed us with her skills and knowledge as a teacher, administrator, board member, and many other roles. She has touched many students and teachers lives and we will miss her very much!
Below is a letter Mrs. Fugit wrote to all of our GCA families.

I want to let everyone know that I have accepted a position with Mesa Public Schools. My tenure at Gethsemane has been wonderful and I have enjoyed every minute of it. It has been a true gift to know all of the families and kiddos who attend this amazing school. I will treasure all of these wonderful memories.

Blessings to all who are part of the Gethsemane family.

In His Service,

Claire Fugit

Introducing our Staff!
This week we will learn a little more about Miss Sonja!

I was born and raised in a small town in North Dakota. When I was sixteen, we moved to Mesa. I graduated from Westwood High School.  My original career was in hospital dietetics, graduating with a degree from NAU. My favorite part of the job was teaching people about diets and nutrition. After I got involved with the preschool at my church, I decided to go back to college and get an education degree. I first studied history and Spanish, but I realized I did not want to teach at a high school level. I received a post-baccalaureate certificate in K-8th education from Rio Salado College. I have experience teaching and aiding in Kindergarten, Pre-K, and 3s classes in public and private schools. I have worked at Gethsemane for five years and am currently aiding in Miss Bonnie's Kinder-Prep class. My interests include singing in my church choir, reading mysteries, going to movies, sewing, and playing with my pet cat, Callie.
