I'm now coming to the end of my first month as Interim BID Manager, and what a month it has been. We've been closely monitoring the Government updates and have shared key highlights with you to support your businesses in this newsletter. For regular Covid:19 related news, please ensure you check in daily on our website and via our social media channels where we will continue to share daily with you all.

In the meantime, if you have any news, updates or initiatives you would like to share with fellow BID members, get in touch and we'll share them in the next newsletter.

Covid-19: testing for essential workers

Essential workers can now book tests for themselves and their household via a new online portal on gov.uk. This will make the process of getting an appointment quicker and easier, while reducing the burden on employers. The online booking service will apply to England and Scotland only, but full details on how to access testing in all nations and who is eligible can be found here:

We've also attached FAQs for employers and essential employees for those immediate questions you might have.

New free online learning platform to boost workplace skills

A new online learning platform to help boost the nation’s skills while people are staying at home, has been launched today (28 April) by Education Secretary Gavin Williamson.

Free courses are available through a new online platform hosted on the gov.uk website, called The Skills Toolkit. The new platform gives people access to free, high-quality digital and numeracy courses to help build up their skills, progress in work and boost their job prospects.
