US politics and with it the society are deeply divided and the election campaigns are unforgiving. While the sun will rise the next morning, no matter what happened the day before, reading the media - conservative and progressive alike - it appears that the political opponent is characterized as either crazy or demented or outright dangerous.
This makes it even more important to speak and listen. This time we speak with Benjamin Wolfmeier, Spokesperson for Republicans Overseas Germany.
Republicans Overseas is an organization representing Republican voters abroad, with some 2000 members in the German speaking countries.
Benjamin Wolfmeier is 43 years old and was born in Berlin. His mother is an American from NYC and he describes his background as coming from a Democratic household. Until 2010 he was member of Democrats Abroad and says he changed the sides and joined the GOP then, "in the same year as President Trump".
He was campaigning in Florida for Kerry in 2004, in New Hampshire for the Democrats in 2008 - then in 2012 in Wisconsin for Romney / Ryan and finally in 2016 for the Trump campaign in Colorado, Texas and Pennsylvania. And Benjamin is proud to be one of the few who predicted the outcome of the 2016 election correctly.
