PHIX is working to support our health care community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Supporting Public Health Through Data Sharing
As our community faces the COVID-19 pandemic, PHIX is working with physicians as well as the City of El Paso Department of Public Health (DPH) to have the right data available securely and electronically to support patient care and management.
For example, Epidemiologists at DPH are using PHIX to track patients with confirmed or suspected infectious diseases while they are in the hospital. This enables the epidemiologists to get the information that they need efficiently and limits calls and faxes to the physicians and nurses who are busy caring for patients.
If we can support you in any way, please call our office at 915-242-0674.

UMC and El Paso Children's Hospital
Expand Data Sharing
We are excited to announce that University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) and El Paso Children's Hospital (EPCH) have expanded their data sharing with PHIX. UMC and EPCH have been sharing data with PHIX for several years, including demographics, diagnoses, procedures, and labs. They are now expanding their data sharing to include physician and nurse notes (eg, discharge summaries, progress notes, and consult notes) as well as radiology reports. This new information is now available for PHIX's users, which will support better care coordination across our region.
The El Paso County Medical Society is leading efforts to ensure that physicians have resources related to COVID-19. See below for a list of resources that they have asked PHIX to share. The El Paso County Medical Society is available to answer questions at (915) 533-0940 and firstname.lastname@example.org.
