Dear Friends, Parents and Alumni of Cornell Fencing,
Even during the summer, we are always looking for ways to stay connected with the current team, incoming team members, and alumni. To that end, I am excited to announce that I will be holding two Coach's Roundtable discussions this summer over Zoom! The first will happen a week from today, on Wednesday, July 21, at 8 PM ET, and the second will happen on Sunday, August 22 at 8 PM ET.
These informal chats will be a great way to get to talk with me, as well as current team members, about the state of the both the men's and women's teams and updates for the 2021-2022 competitive season. We have big plans for this coming year, so you won't want to miss these conversations! Here is the Zoom information for the July 21 event. Zoom information for August 22 is forthcoming.
Need more reasons to attend? Zane Daniels '24, one of our men's fencers, prepared this sneak preview:
Going into last fall, the men’s team was in a rocky place. Between some members remaining home for the semester and the overwhelming number of 2020 graduates, there was a real fear the team could die. However, thanks to the work of last year’s captains, the team was brought to a stronger place than it’s been at in years. Every weapon has a solid squad, and there are fencers lined up to join in the fall. Now that we look forward to the coming season, we’re also preparing to attend varsity-level competitions and elevate the team to a level it hasn’t reached in a long time. We encourage everyone to attend the Coach's Roundtables on July 21 and August 22 to hear more about the team and ask any questions you might have. Go Big Red!
I look forward to speaking with you on Wednesday, July 21 at 8 PM ET!
