Eco Pearl Resorts
Plastic, Organic, Energy, Solar
|
|
Already a member of Biorock (striving for the coral protection and restoration), the Pearl Resorts chain is stepping up its commitment to ecology with some very concrete actions:
Replaced with compostable or totally recyclable materials, plastic straws, cups, and bags are now banned from the Pearl Resorts of Tahiti, Bora Bora, Tahaa, and very soon, of Tikehau and the Marquesas.
Gradually, the resorts, starting with Bora Bora and Tahaa, will get their hands dirty with the creation of vegetable gardens and a composting station on site.
On Bora Bora and Tahaa, solar panels now supply up to 30% of the energy needs of the resorts.
Lastly, mineral sunscreens, not hazardous to our lagoons, are available in the shops.

These areas come in addition to those already in place on the islands of Raiatea, Tahaa, Huahine, and Maupiti.

Important Reminders
Air Tahiti, connections & name spelling
For connections OTHER than Air Tahiti <-> Air Tahiti (international commercial flights, Air Tetiaroa, helicopters, private flights, etc.), Air Tahiti may not be held liable in any way whatsoever, and no compensation will be offered. Therefore, since most night flights are not authorized, such a connection in the afternoon upon return from remote islands is strongly not recommended (e.g., the Marquesas Islands), with the specifics of some runways, freight and distance being significant factors in flight delays.
Moreover, in the event of a spelling error regarding the passenger first/last names in a PNR,
- when the ticket has not yet been issued, the spelling correction at no extra charge is permitted just once per PNR, with a limit of 5 characters maximum per passenger, at then condition that the mistake is recognized as being really accidental by Air Tahiti
- once the ticket is issued, any name change without exception will be charged by the company in the amount of 51 Euro/coupon with a cap of 204 Euro/person. (Note: even a 1 letter change will be charged).
Therefore, requiring the clients' passport is strongly recommended right from the first reservation request to us.
