Please consider an online donation to the Good Friday Offering to support the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East and its dioceses, to address the most pressing needs in these places. St. Luke’s, along with most parishes in the Anglican Communion around the world, participate in this collection every Good Friday, and the region’s ministries depend on our generosity at this time. Diocesan Virtual Easter Vigil
For those who cannot attend our Easter Vigil service in the courtyard April 3 at 7:30 p.m., consider joining the Diocese of El Camino Real online for a joyful celebration of Easter! The service will be offered the evening of April 3, a multi-lingual service of fire and light, story and music, remembrance and hope. Bishop Lucinda will preach and we will renew our baptismal covenant in community. The service will be available beginning at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at the diocesan YouTube page.
Office Closed April 6–9
Despite the fact that our campus is closed, Michael King, our parish admin, has been running the office remotely during the pandemic. However, he will be on vacation from April 6 through April 9. Fr. Ricardo will check office voicemail and email once daily. The office will reopen (remotely) on April 13.
Saturday Courtyard Worship: New Time, New Liturgy

Spring Book Club Selection: Tess of the D’Urbervilles, by Thomas Hardy
For a Victorian thrill of a novel that will have you pondering relations between the sexes, the power of social conventions, and our place in the cosmos, turn with us to Thomas Hardy's Tess of the D'Urbervilles, the Book Club selection we shall be discussing Tuesday, 27 April.
The OXymorons Book Club will meet Tuesday, April 27, 5:00-6:30 p.m. We recommend you purchase the Norton Critical Edition because it provides Hardy’s definitive text from the 1912 Wessex Edition, as well as worthwhile critical essays and samples of Hardy’s poetry.
We gather at 9:00 a.m. Monday–Saturday each week to recite Morning Prayer together. Tune in HERE starting at 8:55 a.m. See you in the morning!
Our Church Finances
Thank you for keeping up with your pledge as you are able. In these times of economic uncertainty, we very much appreciate it, as our finances are not as solid in the short term as we would like. Rentals, offering plate donations, and non-pledgers’ checks are usual sources of revenue that have dried up.
If you already pledge via credit card or check, we hope you can continue to do so. If you do not, please consider donating via our church website donation page: http://stlukeslg.org/donate.
It’s best to mail checks directly to our treasurer, but know that even automated pledges mailed to our parish office are picked up weekly and processed.
A skeleton crew of valiant and big-hearted volunteers is safely distributing food and other necessary items to our homeless clients on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. Though meals are now on a “grab-and-go” basis, our clients are being cared for and we are keeping in touch with them. If you think you can help in some way, contact Jo Greiner, our coordinator. You can also donate to the Pantry through our church website, as noted above.
