PHILLIPIANS 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say, Rejoice!

We have come to another New Year as we turn the page on our calendars. It seems we have certainly been walking in darkness for the last couple of New Years. But the Good News dawned in Bethlehem on that day so long ago, indeed when the world was created by God, and that Light is still shining if we choose to turn and look.

As I was wallowing in my own darkness after one I loved most dearly went home and I must stay, I came to a realization. In fact, I would say THE realization. God is with us: Emmanuel! No matter what this world brings our Joy is with us always.

In scripture it says “Fear not” 365 times!”. Once for every day in our year. So as we come to 2022 as we count time, no matter how dark it seems, rejoice and fear not! Emmanuel!

Dear Lord,
Let me choose joy every day and rest in You so that I will not be afraid. Amen!

We are blessed once again again to have Pam and Dave L. (confidential) seasoned and fun missionaries with Operation Mobilization.

They have visited VPC many times and have inspired, stimulated, and challenged our spirit to serve in the mission field.

Join us in the Fellowship Hall at 8:30 a.m. January 22nd as we learn more about how Pam and Dave have been serving.  Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased on Sunday after the Worship Service.
How does your faith work? Is it working? Chuck Ramsay is starting a class that will help all of us strengthen our faith through each other's experiences, successes, and stories. This is basic Christianity. How do we take Sunday morning faith, put it to work, and live the best life we can? That is the mission of the new Faith Works class with a Zoom option as well. (Persons wanting the Zoom meeting option please email Pastor Diane.)
Written by Dr. Atul Gawande, BEING MORTAL discusses the last stages of life from his experiences with patients.  This class will meet for 6 weeks for 90 minutes and will be facilitated by Eloise Fredrickson, Chris Erickson, and Pastor Diane Christopher. Purchase books online or through Pastor Diane. Books are $10.00

Please get the book and read chapter one before class starts.
