After my grandfather died, our Father’s Mother came to live in an apartment in our town. She had a housekeeper named “Grace” who helped her with everything she needed, including Christmas shopping and wrapping presents.

However, Grandma never completely trusted Grace to get things right. So, after the presents were wrapped, Grandma moved the gift tags. On Christmas morning, our Father was surprised to receive a GI Joe! Almost as shocked but more overjoyed was my 13-year-old brother to receive a silk robe; my 11-year-old brother was thrilled to receive a StopWatch; at age 7 I was delighted to receive a real working Microscope, and our 5-year-old little brother also received a GI Joe. Then we realized what had happened, and in addition, to being thankful for Grandma’s gifts, we had the joy of giving them to the persons they were intended for.

I hope you had a Merry Christmas,

Pastor Craig
