Happy Easter Weekend, Boredom Busters! Are you a chocolate lover like the Bust the Boredom team? If so, you’re in for a treat! Today’s newsletter is all about chocolate. Read on to find out the history of the world’s favourite sweet treat and make your own chocolate fruit at home.

Imagine a world without chocolate. Riots would break out in the streets. Dam walls would burst, and the world would be going through yet another war! Alright, maybe not, but there’s no denying it would be a sad world to live in. There’s more to chocolate than just being everyone’s favourite treat.  The delicious sweet that lies in a shiny wrapper carries with it a story that is over 4000 years old! Activity: Chocolate Fruit

Or chocolate bread if the shops have run out of fruit
 

What you will need:

  • Steel bowl
  • Pot
  • Water
  • Chocolate
  • Wooden spoon
  • Fork
  • Fruit (or bread if your shops have run out of fruit)
  • Plate
  • Cling wrap

What to do:

  1. Take a steel bowl and place it over a pot of boiling water.
  2. Place your favourite chocolate, chopped up, into the bowl.
  3. Stir until the chocolate is melted.
  4. Take your favourite fruit and dip it into the chocolate with a fork.
  5. Place the chocolate covered fruit on a plate covered in cling wrap and put it into the fridge to cool.
  6. Enjoy! It’s important to eat these tasty treats within two days of making them, otherwise they will go off!
