Hello NOPE Community,

By now you may have heard that the Ohio Power Siting Board Staff has released its initial report recommending Duke's Alternate (Green) pipeline route to the board.

While it's discouraging to see the staff accept Duke's arguments--seemingly at face value--this fight is by no means over.
For starters, the staff's recommendations do not amount to a final decision by the Siting Board, which may still consider either the Orange or Green routes, demand further changes, or reject the plan altogether. And because the Board has not yet held its public hearing, its members have not yet seen with their own eyes the level of opposition to this pipeline in our communities. It's even more important now that we pack the meeting room at UC Blue Ash on June 15, and show the Siting Board that Duke's pipeline is not welcome here.
NOPE has also spent the past year researching natural gas pipelines, propane peaking plants, and the many particulars of Duke's distribution system. We believe we have a strong case against this pipeline, and thanks to your many generous donations, have retained legal counsel to present that case at an adjudicatory hearing in July. NOPE has also partnered with 11+ local municipalities to share resources and strengthen our case further.
We are entering a crucial period for the fate of this pipeline. Here's how you can help:
- Come to NOPE's Town Hall on June 7, at 7 p.m. in the Evendale Recreation Center. We'll discuss what to expect at the Public Hearing and how to present your case to the Siting Board.

- Make your statement at the OPSB Public Hearing on June 15, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at University of Cincinnati Blue Ash. Attendees can sign up to comment before the Siting Board.
