Duke has alerted elected officials in some communities that they are preparing to resume the application process for the Central Corridor Pipeline. Here is a recent article in the Cincinnati Enquirer with available details.
We expect to see official documents filed with the Ohio Power Siting Board in the coming days. Please watch your email for additional details.
What to do NOW:
It is time to begin preparing to re-group and renew our efforts to insure that any new natural gas infrastructure is needed, responsible and in the best interest of our communities. Here is how you can help:
Keep your eye out for surveying or other unusual activities. Ask your elected officials whether representatives from Duke are working in your community and where. If you see or hear about surveying or other activities, please alert NOPE! (NOPECincy.firstname.lastname@example.org). We want to keep members in the communities informed of what is happening.
Be careful if you are approached to sign any documents. We encourage you to consult with an attorney who can look out for your interests before you sign any documents. If you do not have an attorney, contact the Cincinnati Bar Association (513-381-8359). They are aware of this pipeline project and can provide information about attorneys who can assist you. NOPE cannot offer legal advice, however, here is some additional information that was given to us that you might find helpful.
Get yourself and your community ready! Let your friends, neighbors and community leaders know that we should expect an announcement from Duke soon. Watch for information from NOPE! and share it through your communication channels.
