Family camp, a reunion, and a flood update... all in this newsletter!

Family Camp is almost here!

We look forward to seeing families come for a refreshing weekend retreat this October 6-8. Jake Joseph, this year's speaker, will help us dig into Ephesians 6 to study the Armor of God. We'll have plenty of fun family activities all weekend, too!

Got some friends?

Several spots are still available, so please spread the word to any families you think would be interested.

50 Years of God's Faithfulnesss

This past Labor Day, camp hosted its 50-year reunion. All former campers and staff were invited. Nearly 150 were able to attend, and enjoyed a great time of fellowship. After a picnic lunch, Ben Sparks and Jack Wagner shared some of camp's history and looked forward to what's in store for the next 50 years of ministry. All glory goes to God for what He has done—and will do—through this camp!

Flood Repair Update

Work on the recently flooded lodge is moving ahead. Thank you to all who have given your time to help so far! This past Monday, a volunteer helped us remove damaged ceilings in the lodge. The remodeling phase is almost ready to begin, and we're looking for more volunteers with experience in the following areas:
  • sheetrock installation
  • painting
  • flooring
  • plumbing
  • cabinets

If you're willing to volunteer your time and experience in these areas, we'd love to hear from you! Even a few hours of work would be a big help.

Of course, many materials need to be purchased too. Thank you to those who have given special gifts to support the project so far! We look forward to seeing how God continues to provide.

Coming Up Next...

  • Please pray with us for an encouraging and spiritually profitable time for all at Family Camp.
  • Next month, we'll head to Bob Jones University for a camp recruitment conference. Please pray that God would direct as we network with students, and that He'd provide the right summer staff for 2018.
  • Finally, please pray for wisdom, resources, and good progress on the lodge flood renovations.
We look forward to sharing how God answers your prayers in the next newsletter!

Thanks so much for reading and praying,
Ben Sparks
