Staff Awards 2016
The Nga Kete Staff Awards event of 2016 was held last week at Elmwood Gardens and what a fabulous occasion it was!

Staff were treated to beautiful food, entertainment, and an awards ceremony honouring our colleagues.

Congratulations to all of the award winners and especially our X-Factor Hall of Fame Awards of 2016 (pictured below) Pikihuia Ruffell and Kody Young!
My Gambling Addiction was out of Control
*This client wishes to remain anonymous.

A courier package containing a threat of prosecution was the turning point in his addiction.

After 20 years of gambling, playing the pokies daily for 5-10 years and losing tens of thousands of dollars he realized it was time to seek help.

He has not played a pokie machine in 12 months.

ILT Stop Smoking Challenge
STOPtober is just about over and the battle between two Invercargill bar managers will shortly come to an end.

And we've got some great news! BOTH managers are winners in this challenge!

The pair went head-to-head in an ILT Stop Smoking Challenge for STOPtober with support from Nga Kete’s Stop Smoking team.

Both managers have been smoke free since October 1, and both intend to keep it that way.
One of the participants, Northern Tavern Assistant Manager Sandra Waddick, of Team Sandra (she and one other staff member), has broken her 25-year smoking habit and is confident she’ll take out the win.

The other participant, who wishes to remain anonymous, has also broken his 15-year habit and is equally confident he’ll take out the win.

Our aim is for BOTH managers to win! The prize is the best possible prize anyone could ask for – their own good health.

Southern Stop Smoking Service coach Barbara Metzger says the challenge promotes smoke-free workplaces, and smoke-free work breaks.

Are you an employer? Do you want to support you and your staff to become smoke free? Give our team a call 03 214 5260 or 0800 925 242.
