Ardra Bio Inc.

Pratish Gawand, a BioZone alumni, has been been in the news lately. His company Ardra Bio Inc is a member of the IndiBio Program, the world’s first Synthetic Biology accelerator. On July 14th, 2016 Pratish delivered his pitch to over 400 investors on IndiBio's Demo Day. You can see the pitch video here: link. Check out the 1h 28 minute mark.

Pratish was also featured in Medium Magazine's founder series: link.

Structural Microbiology Lab

Alexei Savchenko has moved to the University of Calgary's Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Infectious Diseases. However, the Structural Microbiology lab here in BioZone is maintaining its presence and will continue to work on protein purification, crystallization and structure determination for various BioZone, NSERC IBN, CSGID and Ontario Research Fund projects.  If you have any questions or are interested in collaborating please contact Peter Stogios.

Awards & Grants

Elizabeth Edwards, in partnership with SiEM, was awarded a Genomics Application Partnership Program (GAPP) Award from Genome Canada, titled "Scale-up of Bioaugmentation Cultures and Development of Delivery Strategies and Monitoring Tools for Anaerobic Benzene and Alkylbenzene Bioremediation".

Congrats!
