This year is really flying by and I cannot believe that it is already 6 months that I am fulltime involved with the Deli! This newsletter is full of news, so let us begin.
The Deli has come a long way. One of the questions that regularly pops up with new customers is “How long have you been doing this?” It all started with functions on the stoep. Franco sold a few products and took orders for cheese and coffee. The other day I stumbled on a Facebook survey in which I asked our friends if they will be interested in having coffee and cake at the Deli on a Saturday when they pick up their orders! Well, we have come a long way from there! This photo is the Deli cupboard which used to stock all our products – it was taken in 2016!
Father’s day – 16 June
Please do not forget! We make such a fuss of Mothers Day and sometimes forget to spoil the Dads in our life. There are some nice gifts at the Deli for the Dads, from cheap to more expensive:
- Royal Icing Daddy cookies @ R13
- Combo of 3 types of nuts (Chocolate Coated Peanuts, Wasabi Peanuts and Peanuts and Raisins) @ R30
- Fathers Day box full of Deli goodies @ R225
- Wooden Boards from R150 to R200
- Beard grooming products from R150 to R500
We mentioned in last month’s newsletter that we are going to launch a Deli bag project where we will ask individuals to design and make a grocery bag from recycled material. We received 5 entries and with the help of a Facebook post asked for your opinions as to which bag will be the best.
And the winner is …
Bag nr 1 (see photo above), made with coffee bags and a leather handle. We hope to have them available soon at R75 per bag.
