Monster Vegan Cookie, Date Balls & Xylitol

Welcome to our Product Focus Monday fact file.  Today I am writing from a coldish Hermanus, sitting in front of a fire in a hotel lounge.

Today, we are focusing on some more healthy products, our newest Monster Vegan Choc Chip cookie, the famous Date Balls and Xylitol.

As a new addition to the Oh So Schweet product range, this cookie is as big as it's full name.  Oh So Schweet Monster Vegan Choc Chip Cookie, wheat free and nut free.  This cookie is huge!  Weighing in at 80g for a single cookie.

And as the name says, it is a Vegan Choc Chip Cookie!  It was launched officially last weekend.

An energy bomb, to say the least.  A full 1812kj, not for the ones counting kilojoules.

Find it online, selling at R35 each (80g)

Probably one of our first products, our famous date balls are made by Bernadene, a master with date balls.  She uses her secret recipe to make these date balls, the best you can buy.  Don't even bother to ask for the recipe, just enjoy them and know that they are the best!

Use it as a snack with your coffee or as an energy booster when needed.  Ideal to have a couple at your desk for that 15:00 dip, or in your backpack when in the mountains.

Note: They are not vegan and they are not gluten free.

Xylitol is maybe one of the most common sugar alternatives in the market.  You might walk right pass it in the Deli, as we don't focus too much on fancy packaging for the Xylitol, but rather value for money.

Xylitol is a naturally occurring alcohol found in most plant material, including many fruits and vegetables. It is extracted from birch wood.  Xylitol is widely used as a sugar substitute and in "sugar-free" chewing gums, mints, and other candies.
