What the CDC’s Relaxed Mask Recommendations Mean for schools
What does this mean specifically for CMSD? CMSD will not be announcing a formal “mask optional” policy at this time, will not be removing signs requiring masks, will continue to request everyone entering a CMSD facility to wear a mask and will continue to provide masks. However, employees will not be required to enforce mask wearing for students or adults at this time.
CMSD will continue to support efforts to increase vaccination efforts for our students and their families and the district will continue to provide free, weekly COVID PCR testing which I hope every employee will take advantage of. We will also continue to provide rapid testing for those who are symptomatic and will continue to provide PPE for all facilities. We will continue to monitor the daily and weekly updates of COVID cases in Cuyahoga County, Cleveland, and the District as well and will update our policies and procedures as necessary to respond to those trends.
