Welcome to WARM Newsletter No.5
Dear WARM Knitters, Partners, Sponsors and Friends
The WARM community knitting project is an extraordinary, knitted mural of a renewed and renewable sustainable landscape! A world in which we no longer rely on fossil fuels to keep warm. Made up of over 1100 pieces of beautifully knitted landscape pieces, knitted by around 250 community knitters and installed over three intense and exciting days by the WARM project artists and a few helpers.
Thank you to our amazing community of knitters! We have been blown away by the interest and enthusiasm of the hundreds of people who have contributed to WARM. It was wonderful to meet so many of you at the opening of the exhibition. You can see some photos of the event below.
The final artwork will be on exhibition for a couple more days at the Art Gallery of Ballarat. On Tuesday 27th it will be rolled up and taken to the National Wool Museum in Geelong, where it will be on exhibition from the 28th September until mid November.
We would love to tour WARM to other galleries across Victoria and Australia, so please get in touch if you know of any suitable exhibition opportunities.
If you haven't had a chance to see the artwork yet, we have included some photos and a link to the ABC TV News story about the project below.
