As we say goodbye to the Year of the Monkey and welcome the Year of the Rooster we look forward optimistically to the new Lunar Year.
 
The summer season has had McLaren delivering exciting projects all over Asia with the opulent Baroque-inspired palace The 13 Macau (www.the13.com) undoubtedly a highlight. The 13 is being billed as the most luxurious hotel in the world – and it is one of the most expensive ever with a price tag that works out to more than £5million (US$7million) per guest room. The 13 is set to become a must see during visits to Macau.
 
McLaren has recently been appointed an Authorised Apple Reseller to assist our customers in hospitality, aged care and health care for all device requirements for guests and staff. Please let us know if we can assist you.
 
McLaren is expanding into the Himalayas and sub-continent during the 1st quarter of 2017 with projects booked in Pakistan, Nepal and Tibet. We are looking forward to growing in this dynamic region during the course of the year.

Crown Towers Perth Opens

Four years in the making, Crown Towers Perth has set a new standard in the high-end tourism market – targeting the high-growth potential domestic and international luxury traveller.

To enhance the guest experience Crown Australian Resorts selected McLaren and Intelity’s ICE platform which sees a tablet placed in each room for room controls (lights, air conditioning and drapes) and full guest services including in-room dining with integration to Opera PMS and Micros POS.  The ICE platform combines guest-facing and hotel staff software components to assist in improving the guest experience, increasing guest satisfaction, creating new revenue channels, and streamlining operations. 

Using ICE Bedside on the complimentary hotel tablets, guests will be able to immediately communicate requests and look up information to improve their stay.  They can order in-room dining and request items from housekeeping in real time, in addition to immediate access to menus, resort amenities and activities

Hotel WiFi ~ Free or Pay?

The eternally contentious issue of hotel WiFI. McLaren Director of Technology, Marc Jonkers gives his thoughts on how hoteliers can get a return on their investment.

 

What is the WiFi code? That is the question every traveller asks upon check in. Smart hoteliers, like Next Hotel in Brisbane, are removing barriers and making WiFi free for everyone; guests and visitors alike. Others are still locked into legacy contracts that force them to charge for upgraded speed and download amounts.

Nomadix NSE Version 8.8 for the Access Gateway Now Available

This new Service Engine Enables Hoteliers to Better Support Bandwidth-Hungry, Internet-Based Applications and Provide a Superior Guest Experience

Nomadix Inc. has announced NSE (Nomadix Service Engine) version 8.8 for its AG 2400, AG 5600, AG 5800 and AG 5900 access gateways, which service internet connections for guests in hotels or anywhere there is a visitor-based network. Version 8.8 brings increased throughput performance and support for the new AG 5900 with a two-port Enhanced Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP+) 10G fiber module plug-in option.
