At last November's meeting, ACLE members discussed a long list of goals and projects for 2018. Committees reviewed the list and the Coordinating Committee recommendations are:
Gain “Impaired” status for Western Lake Erie.
Support a moratorium on additional CAFO or CAFF permits in the Maumee watershed until there is state legislation requiring CAFOs and CAFFs to install sewage treatment plants with requirements similar to other point sources under the Clean Water Act.
Support Ohio legislation mandating fertilizer and manure be applied at the same agronomic rate.
Research information needed to accomplish ACLE’s goals.
Support the Lake Erie Bill of Rights.
Influence Ohio’s public officials and candidates for public office.
Expand ACLE outreach efforts.
