NEW grant decisions

The Programming Committee on Youth (PC) met at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg on 9 - 10 June to  establish and monitor the programme of the European Youth Foundation and the European Youth Centres. It also took decisions on grants submitted to the EYF, while considering the recommendations made by the EYF team in charge of evaluating applications. More on how the EYF works and application process...
  1. Out of 21 annual work plan applications submitted on 1st April deadline, 6 were granted for a total amount of 260,000, representing 18 activities. 8 work plan applications were recommended for resubmission and 7 rejected.
  2. Out of 35 one-off international activities submitted on the 1st April deadline - 18 activities were granted, representing a total amount of  € 295,000. 6 applications were recommended for resubmission and 11 rejected.

The next deadline of the EYF is on the 1st of October. Youth NGOs will be able to apply for international activities, work plans and one-off structural grants. Youth NGOs can apply for pilot activity grants all throughout the year, decisions being taken every 4 - 6 weeks.

Statement made by the Programming Committee on Youth
At its 35th meeting in June 2016, the newly established Programming Committee on Youth expressed concern about youth NGOs having benefited from EYF grants but having failed to respect the deadlines and rules of the Foundation, for example when it comes to reporting.

The Programming Committee on Youth reminds all youth NGOs in receipt of EYF grants and support, that the key elements of the partnership between the EYF and NGOs are mutual respect and two-way communication.

The Programming Committee on Youth urges youth NGOs to respect the deadlines set and not to hesitate to contact and communicate with the EYF Secretariat, if/when needed.

The Programming Committee on Youth will apply rigorously the rules of the Foundation. It may cancel any approved grants, which have not respected the conditions clearly stated in the grant acceptance form, and may request the reimbursement of any funds already transferred to the NGO (article 31 of the Operational Regulations of the EYF).

NGOs are strongly encouraged to read the grant acceptance form and all conditions (if applicable) before signing it and sending it to the EYF.

Testimonials EYF Seminar 2016

“I knew about EYF approach before and how responsive and sensitive to young people's needs EYF is, but meeting the team and getting from the first hand this spirit was something very valuable for me.”

“I especially enjoyed sessions about gender perspectives - because it was very interesting to see how different people approach it differently.”
