Nominations invited for UCOWR awards. The Universities Council on Water Resources (UCOWR) presents PhD Dissertations Awards and Education and Public Service Awards. Nominations are due January 13 to the University of Minnesota delegates, who will select one nominee for each category to submit from the U of M. Dissertation nominations must come from the faculty advisor, for PhD dissertations completed in calendar 2015 or 2016. Education and Public Service nominations may be for groups or individuals, within or outside the University. Recipients receive travel expenses to attend the UCOWR conference June 13-15, 2017. For more information and to submit a nomination for the  PhD Dissertation Award and the Education and Public Service Award.

The University of Minnesota Sea Grant College Program is pleased to announce our regular proposal solicitation for research to be conducted between 2018 and 2020. We typically fund projects for two years that average $50,000 in direct costs per year and include a graduate student research assistant at no cost to the project. 
The deadline for pre-proposals is January 27, 2017.

The Minnesota Aquatic Invasive Species Research Center (MAISRC), University of Minnesota, is pleased to announce this request for proposals for research studies to advance control and management, prevention of establishment and spread, risk assessment and early detection of AIS in Minnesota.
A total of up to $900,000 will be allocated during this funding cycle and will be targeted toward high priority research needs identified through a systematic needs assessment conducted in 2016 that included AIS managers, researchers, and the public.
The deadline for pre-proposals is February 3, 2017
