The Year of Water Action theme for April is Sustainable Practices for Clean Water. WRS faculty Mary Meyer and Assistant Extension Professor Sam Bauer are working on Reducing Water Use in Automated Home Lawn Irrigation Systems

The Paul L. Busch Award recognizes an individual for innovative research in the field of water quality and the water environment, with a special focus on those who show promise and make significant contributions in bridging research and its practical application. The award comes with a grant of $100,000 to continue their work.

Mirko Musa, PhD Candidate in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo-Engineering and student at the St. Anthony Falls Laboratory, was awarded the Heinz G. Stefan Fellowship during a special SAFL seminar on March 28th, 2017

Details of urban N and P budgets. Sarah Hobbie, Jacques Finlay, Ben Janke, Dan Nidzgorski, Dylan Millet, and Larry Baker published a report detailing sources of urban N and P pollution. N sources were dominated by household activities -- especially, fertilizer and pet waste.
