New Innovator in Food and Agriculture Research Award
FFAR created the New Innovator Award to help support the next generation of food and agriculture scientists who will spur future innovation to meet the needs of a growing global population. The Award funds promising individuals pursuing research with potential to sustainably enhance agricultural production or improve health through food.
Nominations Due: February 28, 2017 by 11:59 p.m. EST
Eligible Nominees Invited to Apply: by March 10, 2017
Applications Due: April 21, 2017 by 11:59 p.m. EST

North Central Region Water Network announced two seed funding opportunities:
Impact 2020 preproposals. 
Capacity Building Mini Grant full proposals.
Both due March 14, 2017.
Lead applicants must have an Extension appointment. 
Q&A webinar on January 26, 2017 @ 2 p.m. CT.

Sustainable Development Workshop for PhD Students at Columbia University
Columbia University’s Sustainable Development Doctoral Society is convening the seventh annual Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Workshop in Sustainable Development (IPWSD)
April 21–22, 2017
Columbia University in New York City.

Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP)
Agency: USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC)
Due Date: 2017-04-21
Notes: Pre-proposals due Apr 21; invited full proposals due Aug 31.
Successful RCPP proposals will bring an array of financial and technical capabilities to projects, will demonstrate experience with working effectively and collaboratively with agricultural producers and private forest landowners across the landscape, and will present innovative, sustainable and measurable approaches to achieving important conservation goals. NRCS encourages RCPP applications that support environmental markets and conservation finance projects.
