Spotlight: Fish Aggregating Devices in The Mediterranean

We Animals Media recently collaborated with photojournalist Stefano Belacchi to document the fishing industry in the Mediterranean Sea. In addition to showing how fish aggregating devices are being used by small fishing boats to lure fish to their nets, Stefano's images show how these fish are being killed and slaughtered en route to market.

Fish live in places we can’t visit, they have different bodies and behavior. It’s not easy to empathize with them, but I hope everyone starts to consider a fish as a living being.

The Guardian Takes Note of HIDDEN

Last month, The Guardian highlighted HIDDEN, exploring how the book "sheds light on industrial scale factory farms and slaughterhouses and is an indictment of the meat industry." International editors, journalists and newsmakers continue to take note of this historic book and we are grateful for the dialogue the work has sparked around the world. Although the book’s first print run has officially sold out, the second edition will be on press shortly and shipping early in the new year. Are you interested in covering HIDDEN? Let’s talk! Grateful for Our Donors

One of our organizational backers, Mobius, recently offered us a matching grant of $25,000. We called on you, our amazing supporters, to help us achieve this goal. Thanks to you and the Animal Welfare Trust, we were able to raise the funds needed to receive the Mobius matching grant. Because of you we now have the funds to continue expanding our visual resources to better serve the movement in 2021. We are grateful to all our supporters all year round, but wanted to take this opportunity to say an extra thank you, and wish you all the happiest of holidays and a wonderful new year.
