A Note from the Library Director
As I look back at 2017, I think about the wonderful memories folks made at the library this year: Seniors toured the library and learned to use the computer catalog, the Cooney Robotics team led Coding Club for kids, teens made films about the library in Filmless Film Club, young kids participated in 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, and our wonderful community members came through the library doors to say hello each day. Even as we bid a fond farewell to 2017, we look forward to a super year in 2018: We will celebrate the library's 125th anniversary! Please stay tuned for all the fun on tap for 2018, as we party like it's 1893, when our library began!
Yours in Reading,
Betsy Bleck
Did You Know?
Community Needs Assessment
If you receive a survey from the library or Parks and Rec department, thank you in advance for filling it out and returning it! The survey will help us serve you the best way possible, and will provide important information for our budgeting and short- and long-range planning. To get the best, most useful data possible, it is very important that the randomly selected households that receive the survey respond to it. Didn't receive a survey? The library is always happy to hear your ideas and feedback in person, over
the phone, by email, or via the "Suggestions" box on the library's homepage.
Holiday Closings
The library will be closed Sunday December 24 through Tuesday December 26 for Christmas and Sunday December 31 through Tuesday January 2, 2018 for New Year’s.

News You Can Use
The Libraries Transform Campaign, an initiative of the American Library Association (ALA), is designed to increase public awareness of the value, impact and services provided by libraries and library professionals.  February 2018 is going to be an amazing month for Bridges libraries, as we come together to celebrate libraries and show the range of ways we transform communities.

The Oconomowoc Public Library has been transforming our community for 125 years! 2018 will be a year of celebration and pride as we reflect on how the library and community have transformed together. Stay tuned for details!

Libraries:
  • Transform lives
  • Transform communities
  • Are passionate advocates for lifelong learning
  • Are a smart investment
  • Are less about what they have for people and more about what they do for and with people

The library is all about stories, and we would love for you to share yours! Submit your photos and memories to help us build a memory book for the library’s 125th anniversary in 2018.

Please share your stories and photos online at oconomowoclibrary.org/about/125th-anniversary/.
