UPDATES
One Year Later
One year ago Sapphire Books published my debut novel, Along Came the Rain. I'm delighted to say it now has 35 reviews on Amazon with an average rating of 4.5, and was chosen as one of the top ten books of 2016 by the Lesbian Reading Room.  It's been gratifying that it is equally appreciated by both gay and straight readers -- and why not? It's a story we can all relate to: how do you know who to trust when you aren't sure you can trust yourself.  Why not buy a copy for a friend on this publication anniversary?

THE QUESTION
This month's question:  Do you prefer paperbacks or ebooks?
Keep your responses coming -- just click reply to this email.

Last month I asked whether you judge a book by its cover
Your responses were fascinating. What seemed obvious to one person, was completely the opposite for another. While Elke said: "The first thing that catches my eye is the cover,"  Sally's response was, "I look at the category...then the blurb on the back. I rarely look at the cover." Charles said: "To get the shopper to even pick up the book and read the back or flyleaf, he/she has to be intrigued by the title and/or cover." Several of you said it all depends on whether you know the author, or the book has already been recommended.

PERSONAL RECOMMENDATIONS
I recently read Dave Eggars' "The Circle" and I highly recommend it. It really made me think about how we use social media and where we're heading in our brave new technological world.

I credit my recent incarnation as a writer to Renee McKenzie, so I want to give a shout out to her latest novel, "Pausing." Check out all her novels -- my personal favorite is "Nesting."
REVIEWS

It's EASY to post a review...

Have you reviewed "Devoted" yet? You can review a novel in just the same way you review any product on Amazon. You don't have to agonize over wording -- one line reviews are fine, and it's okay to repeat what someone else has said. Just avoid spoilers (it's easy to give away the plot by mentioning certain characters!)  Please email me if you aren't sure how to post a review.

AMAZON CUSTOMER REVIEW
I really enjoyed reading Devoted
By A R.on March 31, 2017

Format: Kindle Edition
"I really enjoyed reading Devoted. I liked how the characters were introduced to the reader, how we learned about who they were, how their minds worked, and how they justified their actions. I especially appreciated how the author linked their thoughts and behaviors to past events that illuminated how the players in this story saw the world and their understanding of fairness and justice, of what is right and wrong. I do not want to go into specifics as I don’t want to give away the ending but I wholeheartedly recommend this book."
