We don't have to tell you that this is a busy time of year for produce-- transition, Easter, and Mother's Day!  Here's what we're seeing with this upcoming transition...

> Weather has not been kind and we're seeing quality of some product suffering, however we are looking at a decent / medium-soft transition and the Fresh Avenue team will keep a close eye on quality and supply.

> Most crops will be ready around April 15-20th in Salinas.  Iceberg, romaine, and green cabbage all look to be doing well for a Salinas start as well as Yuma/desert.

Please know that during the transition weeks, most activities from harvesting, processing to shipping / loading take a little extra time, so please make allowances in your inventory, ordering and truck load time expectations.  We appreciate your understanding!
 

Can you believe that we are ready for another transition?  People are packing up homes, plans are made to haul equipment, and dates are set on orders to hopefully keep supply continuous throughout the disruption.

When I walk in the office, usually the first person I see working away is Tyler-- always there, always responsive, always reliable.  One thing with Tyler is that he grew up in produce and has worked in various aspects, from the fields to warehouses.  Also you may see a striking resemblance to our managing partner with Tyler being the third generation of Vaughan involved in the food industry.
