What a year.
Oh, what a year it has been. As every year does, this year has shaped me - but far more than most. My eyes have been opened to so much, my heart filled and emptied. I have been on some of the greatest adventures with some of my closest companions. I have seen corners of this beautifully vast world that I never thought I'd see. I nearly lost a loved one to the darkness of substance abuse. I graduated college. I strengthened friendships with people that I now call family. My father got engaged. My mother sold the house I grew up in. I fell in love.
This year has been a rollercoaster ride to say the least. But this year has shaped me, it has strengthened me, it has taught me how to love more unconditionally, and it has helped me to always see the light.
I could've allowed things that happened this year to wreck me, to pull me under the dark waters of despair. Instead, I chose to allow those moments to shape me, to strengthen me. And I have allowed the incredibly happy, joyous moments to help me appreciate this beautiful life I have been given.
This year has taught me that we must not allow a single moment to define us. We must allow all of these moments, good and bad - big and small, to shape us into the incredibly beautiful creations we were put on this earth to be.
So here's to 2017 and becoming more like the beautifully flawed, wonderfully intricate humans we were meant to be.
P.s. There are some crazy, wild adventures to come and I can't wait to share them with you all!
