Here’s an important heads up: The start of the 2020 UCR registration period is still in a holding pattern and delayed until further notice while the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) completes its rulemaking process. YOUR EXPERT NAVIGATORS
Sensitech: An ally in combating cargo theft
Third-party specialists can be valuable allies in the business of transportation and when it comes to combating cargo theft, Sensitech is one of those resources that brings incredible insights and tools to help combat cargo theft. If you want to learn more or take on a more proactive approach to risk mitigation and loss reduction, you might consider the global team of experienced supply-chain security experts at the SensiGuard Supply Chain Intelligence Center or you may simply want to gain insights from Sensitech publications and reports such as the Global Cargo Theft Risk Assessment 2019.
There is no question that all of us in the transportation industry need to remain vigilant and prepared for the thieves that are preying on our cargo. California and Texas remain ‘severe’ and Canada also has ‘hot spots’. Weather, holidays, and unexpected layovers in unfamiliar places can subject cargo to loss from theft or damage. Stationary and unattended cargo is always at greatest risk.
INFORMING YOUR JOURNEY
The Ratification of the USMCA: What does it mean for the transportation industry?

According to the Office of the United States Trade Representative, the United States, Mexico, and Canada reached an agreement to modernize the 25-year-old North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

The new USMCA will support mutually beneficial trade leading to freer markets, fairer trade, and robust economic growth in North America. Fact sheets have been produced to show how the USMCA will benefit each state. The USMCA has passed the House of Representatives of the US Congress and now it heads to the Senate where it is expected to get the same bipartisan backing that it did in the House.

For perspective on the significance of the USMCA, here’s a statement  of strong support for the new trade pact from Chris Spear, the President and CEO of the American Trucking Associations.
