2016-2017 School Calendar
 School pictures tomorrow, September 20th. 
Sept. 21st-Sept. 23rd will be early out days. Students released at 12:00pm

Lunch: Sack lunches will be served in place of regular hot lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at $2.30 per sack lunch. If your student would like to purchase a sack lunch they will need to let their teacher know that morning.

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on September 21st and September 22nd.

Elementary parents should be receiving a signup genius link from your child's teacher to sign up for an appointment.

6-9th grade will be open house.
Lakeview Academy will be holding our annual Flu Shot Clinic during Parent Teacher Conferences on
Wednesday, September 21st from 4-7pm.

LUNCH BALANCES:

Please log in to your SIS/Aspire account and periodically check your students lunch balances. The lunchroom managers will be stamping students hands when they have a negative balance. Please email melhalta@lakeview-academy.com with any questions. 

To apply for free and reduced lunch log on to your SIS/Aspire account. All applications are now done online. 
Beat the crowds/avoid long lines by paying your middle school fees and lunch money online ahead of time!

SIS is our student information system. All parents need to set up an account to track grades/homework/add emergency contacts/update info.

If you have never set up an SIS account please do so. If you need your student numbers contact the front office.

PALS I and II Training
ALL volunteers working at the school must be at least PALS I trained and have a volunteer badge.
 
PALS I and PALS II Training booklets and quizes available at the front office. 
Lakeview Academy does have the ability to take fingerprints and submit background checks. 
 
When doing Pals 1 and Pals 2 please do not bring children

PALS 1
Volunteers at PALS I will have a significant level of interaction with students, yet will still be supervised by the classroom teacher. Their main responsibilities are to assist with small group instruction in math, language arts or any of the additional core subjects as needed. Volunteers at this level would be asked to go through some basic training.
 
PALS 2
Volunteers at PALS II  will have the greatest interaction with students and could potentially be left unsupervised with students. However, they will not be permitted at any time to be alone with any one student. More than one student or another teacher must be in close proximity (for instance, the volunteer may work with a student in the hall -- a public thoroughfare -- with the classroom door remaining open). They could provide the same assistance as a Level One volunteer. Yet the main responsibilities of these volunteers include: after school tutoring, working with students in class who need individual assistance, substitute teaching, and chaperoning field trips. Training would be required for volunteers at this level. 
Volunteers at this level will be required to be fingerprinted and have a background check in accordance with Utah Law 53A-3-410. Volunteers whose background check shows convictions for any class A misdemeanor or felony, including pleas in abeyance and diversion agreements(or the equivalent from another state) will not be permitted to be a PALS Two volunteer however; they may be allowed to be a PALS One volunteer. These background checks must be done every four years at the volunteer’s expense. Complete detailed information regarding these procedures is available upon request.
