44,000 English books crossed the deep blue sea and the dusty roads of Tanzania and Burundi, arriving in Bujumbura last week. This time, BFI sent not just one but two 40-foot containers, full of books and computers. We extend our gratitude to Books For Africa, who provided BFI with a grant of $16,000 towards this shipment.
This shipment is a milestone, marking over 100,000 English reading and text books BFI has sent to Burundi. Books bring the world to Burundi, opening minds for today’s learning, tomorrow’s development, and imagination to create a better future.
Hundreds of Burundians will be served by our newest container libraries, #5 and #6, in the communities of Ngozi Province and Bujumbura Rural. Delivery of other books will reach college students at International Leadership University and Burundi American International University.
There are even enough books to be delivered to more distant provinces outside of the capital city, Bujumbura. These books will find a home on high school shelves, increasing the impact by allowing high school students and BFI English Club members to share valuable resources.
Your donation is the key to growing BFI’s massively successful English learning project across Burundi. Give knowledge and hope!
