Welcome to your network

Welcome to the first Transform Nutrition Leaders Network Newsletter, designed to keep you up to date with the work of the network and its members and to share research findings, information on global events and any news relevant to you, our network members.  If there is anything you would specifically like to see in forthcoming newsletters please let Leah Plati (the Network Co-odinator) know.  All the very best and welcome to your network.

Meet your network co-conveners

We have great pleasure in welcoming Manaan Mumma (Kenya), William Chilufya (Zambia), Sarah Mshiu (Tanzania), Phyllis Baxen (South Africa), Oluwatoyin Oyekenu (Nigeria) Basanta Kumar Kar (India) as our network co-convenors.  All of you will have met at least one of them, either in your capacity as nutrition champions, or at one of the Nutrition Short Courses.  You may also have existing links with them via your own networks.  In their capacity as co-conveners they will lead regional and national hubs and be your main point of contact across these regions.  Through continued dialogues with yourselves they will work with us to design a peer support and mutual learning network designed to meet the collective needs of you, our members. They will be in contact with each of you over the coming weeks.

Two of our conveners attended the Nutrition For Growth Spokespeople Training earlier this year.  Read Manaan and Basanta's blogs about the event and the importance of nutrition champions.

LinkedIn Discussion Group

We will shortly be inviting you to join our LinkedIn discussion group - please do sign up and use it as a forum to ask questions and seek guidance and support from your network peers. You can also use it to share your research findings and keep in touch with your nutrition colleagues and course conveners. If you have any burning issues that you would like to share to begin our first discussion please contact Leah Plati.

Share your impact stories
Peer support, sharing best practice and mutual learning are three of the areas that you, our members, want  from the network.  We would therefore like to invite you to share with us any areas of your work which have been impacted by what you learnt at the nutrition short course.  Alternatively, have you got examples of how the course has informed your practice? or, have you met with any obstacles that the knowledge gained at the course helped you overcome?  If you would like to share please contact Leah.  We look forward to hearing from you.
