‘I stand at the door and knock’

I actually love household chores, and keeping my little space cozy and ship-shape, and laying a place for the uninvited guest. In a way I keep my house prepared for Christ. Thus, if he did come and knock, he would know instantly that he was in the “right” place.

Archbishop José H. Gomez celebrated St. Rose of Lima Parish’s Mass of Thanksgiving on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Maywood church’s foundation, Aug. 21. The Mass featured two second class relics of the saint (a piece of the cross used by her for penances, and a piece of cloth touched to her remains), recently gifted to the church by the Dominican Friars in Lima, Peru, and brought to the United States by Fr. Dario Miranda and a group of parishioners. (St. Rose of Lima Parish)
