Registration now open for GLC Semiannual Meeting and Great Lakes Day!

Registration is now open for the 2017 Great Lakes Commission Semiannual Meeting and Great Lakes Day! This year's events will be held March 14-16 in Washington, D.C and will feature dialogue on Great Lakes priorities by regional leaders and members of Congress who play a critical role in shaping Great Lakes policies.

GLC's Lower Fox Demonstration Farm Network featured on USDA's blog

The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently featured the GLC's Lower Fox Demonstration Farm Network on their blog. The GLC has partnered with USDA's Natural Resource Conservation Service and Outagamie and Brown counties to establish the network. Participating farms demonstrate cutting-edge conservation practices that reduce how much phosphorus enters Green Bay and help improve water quality in the Great Lakes.

Grants available for 2017 Volunteer Stream Monitoring in Michigan

The Michigan Clean Water Corps (MiCorps) Volunteer Stream Monitoring Program is now accepting funding proposals under three different topical areas for grants beginning in 2017. To learn more about the grants and apply, visit the MiCorps website

MiCorps is a network of volunteer water quality monitoring programs in Michigan and is administered by the GLC under the direction of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, in partnership with the Huron River Watershed Council, Michigan Lake and Stream Associations, and Michigan State University. 

We're hiring: Help Desk Technician (Part-Time)

The GLC is looking for a customer-service oriented Help Desk Technician to work up to 20 hours per week providing technical and troubleshooting assistance related to computer hardware and software, mobile devices and other tech tools and products. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates with an interest in pursuing a technical career to gain practical experience in a business environment.

Accepting applications for the 2017-2018 GLC-Sea Grant Fellowship

Applications are now being accepted for the 2017-2018 Great Lakes Commission - Sea Grant Fellowship, a one-year position located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The selected Fellow will work with members of the Great Lakes’ science, policy, communication and education communities to advance the environmental quality and sustainable development goals of the Great Lakes states. This will be the 18th year of this highly-respected fellowship program.
