Pradeepthi’s story is one of heartache and hope

Pradeepthi’s family lives in a rented hut as they wait for government housing in their small village.  Pradeepthi’s father, Premkumar, is a cab driver. Her mother suffers from a thyroid problem and diabetes, so she remains at home during the day.

The family lives off of one income, and for a while, this was enough to make ends meet. But over the past few years, local travel patterns have changed. Premkumar now has to work long hours, often from sunrise (which is sometimes around 5am!) until nearly midnight. All of his income goes towards his wife’s medicine and the basic needs of the family, so he has never had the money to send his children to school. All that was left for him to do was to pray for his children’s education, that God would meet this need in his life.

CCDC Steps In to Help Support Pradeepthi’s Family
Two years ago, Pradeepthi became involved in the local CCDC and Premkumar was elated.  Finally, his prayers had been answered! But at the beginning, Pradeepthi wasn’t keen on going to school. She didn’t concentrate well and her grades were not promising.

Rather than give up on her, CCDC assigned her a mentor within the center. Sarada is a member of the local church, and inspired Pradeepthi by tutoring her, sharing wisdom and stories with her, and by being an adult Pradeepthi could depend on. Now Pradeepthi is excelling in school!  She has just begun 3rd grade and remains diligent in her homework and attendance.

Pradeepthi’s mother, Prasanna, writes,

“We are so content what God has given to us through CCDC. When we are in great need, God showed us this church and CCDC.  Our prayers have been heard and God met our needs just in time. There is peace in His presence.”

Prasanna has also found support in church, and has given her life to Christ.

CCDC Makes the Difference for So Many Village Families
Every day, CCDC sends children like Pradeepthi to school for free. These children often come from broken families or incredible poverty. Without CCDC, these children would be relegated to a social hierarchy in life, from which escape is almost impossible.

Thanks to the generous donations of our partners, we have been blessed by God to be able to give hundreds of children a new beginning. But there are thousands more children out there who deserve a chance as well.
