SERVANT LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

Our new Servant Leadership Institute was launched and announced last month, and we've been thrilled by the enthusiastic response!

Lori Hylton, our Administrative Coordinator and the Institute's program coordinator shares some additional details on the purpose of the program and answers some of the questions we've been receiving.

Please share this opportunity with the Presbyterian leaders you know!

MISSION & MINISTRIES COMMISSION HIGHLIGHTS

At its regularly scheduled May meeting, the Synod's Mission & Ministry Commission (M&MC) set aside all regular business to explore some deeper questions and bigger picture matters.

The group's conversations were grounded in the Matthew 25 story of the sheep and the goats, as they considered what it means to see and respond to Christ in the midst of our work together -- within the Commission, its working groups, and our larger Synod fellowship.

Anita Wright, the Commission member representing the Presbytery of Newark, shares her reflections on the weekend.

COME TO THE TABLE

Preparations for this fall's Come to the Table event are well underway!

We will be gathering November 8-9 at the Stony Point Center around the theme For Such a Time As This: Change, Crisis, & Opportunity.

Please mark your calendars to join us!
You won't want to miss out!

SYNOD FUNDS FOR
2019 PRESBYTERIAN YOUTH TRIENNIUM

DEADLINE IS TODAY!

The Synod of the Northeast is incredibly pleased to, once again, provide financial assistance to those participating in the 2019 Presbyterian Youth Triennium this year. We are offering $100 scholarships for each participant, chaperone, and college student who is working behind the scenes at Triennium to make it a success.

People often tell us how significant Triennium was when they were the age to participate. We hear stories of how Triennium started members of the Synod along their path to participate in gospel communities as deacons, or elders, or to serve as Young Adult Advisory Delegates at General Assembly, or even to become a Minister of the Word and Sacrament. This is clearly an important event for all who attend!

Presbyteries, today is the final day for you to submit your list of Triennium participants and chaperones to Nancy Talbot, Synod Stated Clerk. Checks will be issued within two weeks of the deadline.

We hope this year's Triennium will be exciting and meaningful for all!

Support the Synod of the Northeast as we work to nurture innovation and strengthen communities.
