Hi Friend-

"Here comes the sun ..."

We will be singing a happy tune this week and crossing our fingers that the only thing falling from the sky is rays of sunshine! Along with that sun comes an alphabet of abundance from our local farms, fields and orchards in the form of Beets, Bok choy, Carrots, Cucumbers, Cherries, Chard, Herbs, Kale, Peaches...all the way through to Zinneas and Zuchinni. Add prepared food, tinctures, teas and live music to the mix and you have all the ingredients for a community party!

What music, you ask? The incredible Peter Blanchette will be playing archguitar from 3-6:30pm! Read about Peter and see a full list of vendors below.

See you at the Market!

Michelle Bijou returns to the market this week!
Michelle Hallgren creates jewelry using components found while traveling: purple jade from Istanbul, Ukrainian Crystal, and dark blue Russian glass from Neah Bay, WA (Makah Tribe Museum). She also has access to “enhanced “ Czech glass that is a feature of her most recent work.

Happily mixing metal and glass, stone and acrylic, Michelle  sometimes includes a small found object or a bit of recycled jewelry, ensuring each piece is a one-of-a-kind.

Peter Blanchette plays from 3-6:30pm!

Guitarist, composer, arranger and conductor Peter Blanchette is known around the world as the inventor of the 11-string archguitar. His extraordinary repertoire of internationally acclaimed arrangements and compositions spans from the medieval, renaissance and baroque music  to World Music, New Music, and his own original pieces.  He performs and records in solo recital, and together with Mané Lareggla (of Madrid, Spain) as Archguitar Duo. Blanchette and Archguitar Duo also record and perform with selected other instrumentalists to form the Virtual Consort. Blanchette has been heard on hundreds of recordings, film and television scores, public radio in the US, Canada, Europe and across Asia, on his own 17 archguitar albums for the Dorian label and his own imprint, Archguitar Music.

SNAP at Tuesday Market

We have 2 ways that customers can use SNAP benefits at the market:

(1) HIP (Healthy Incentives Program) for Massachusetts SNAP users to buy fruits and vegetables from local farmers and receive an immediate reimbursement to their SNAP accounts of up to $40-$80 per month. We have several vendors who accept SNAP and HIP (see weekly vendor list).

(2) SNAP Matching at the purple market tent allows customers to double up to $10 in SNAP benefits each week. Customers purchase tokens to use to shop for anything at the market that is SNAP eligible, including items not eligible for HIP reimbursement.

Any questions? Please ask us at the purple market tent where you can also double your SNAP dollars or click here for some Frequently Asked Questions

SNAP Matching at Tuesday Market in 2021 is generously funded by Florence-based business Valley Home Improvement and Baystate Health!

Thank you for helping to make local food more accessible to SNAP recipients.
