Project GUTS Summer Workshops

This summer we will be offering two very special Project GUTS CS in Science Professional Development workshops for middle school science teachers.

  • June 4-8, 2018 in Albuquerque, NM, as part of CS PD Week in New Mexico!  This workshop is for New Mexico middle school science teachers who are interested in learning how to implement the CS in Science modules during regular school day science classes. Preference will be given to teachers from NM districts that are highly-supportive of integrating CS in Science and are willing to partner with Project GUTS in a research study. For more information see https://cspdweek.weebly.com/about.html .  If your NM district might be interested, please contact Irene Lee at ialee@mit.edu with district contact information.

  • July 15-20, 2018 in Bloomington, IN as part of Infosys Pathfinders Summer Institute.  Apply to attend at: https://infyfoundation.typeform.com/to/YHThMF

Seeking a community member to serve as Project GUTS' social media outreach coordinator (contract position)

Project GUTS is seeking a community member to serve as its social media outreach coordinator. In this paid contractor position, the coordinator is responsible for collecting GUTS-related posts and materials to share, then posting them via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. If you are interested, please contact Irene at ialee@mit.edu.

Share your implementation stories

Show your appreciation for all the FREE resources, PD and tools Project GUTS provides.  It only takes a few minutes to write up your implementation story! Include contextual information (what class you were teaching, grade level, student characteristics), what you did with the curriculum, and what you learned (as a teacher).  Also, we'd be interested in hearing if you get any insights into student learning and would love to share links to students' work (with their permission) and/ or photos without students faces showing.  Be a GUTS rock star!  Send your stories to ialee@mit.edu.

STAY GUTSY TEACHERS!
