Happy New Year!
We at Project GUTS wish you the best for the New Year! I just wanted to invite you to the January 19th Webinar on Decoding. See the details below.
January 19th Webinar on Decoding.
Please join us for our first webinar of the new year. The topic this month will be decoding - or how to read computer code (StarLogo Nova projects in our case) for understanding. We'll guide you through a number of practice decoding challenges, demonstrate how to bring together piecemeal understandings of individual procedures into understanding the model as a whole, and share tips and techniques from experienced teachers on how to support students in decoding models for understanding. The process of decoding models becomes essential in Project GUTS' CS in Science Modules 2, 3, 4, where students start with a base model that is supplied. Students need to gain an understanding of the model, how it works, and what it includes prior to modifying it.
This month's webinar will be held on Saturday January 19th, at 1pm Eastern. Facilitators Su Gibbs, Josh Bearman, and Melody Hagaman will be guiding you through decoding practices and discussions of best practices. Join us at https://zoom.us/j/5789109113
- you'll also need to be logged in to the TeacherswithGUTS.org
That's all for now, Happy New Year!
