  1.  85 Queens Road Weybridge Surrey KT13 9UQ, Planning Application 2020/3289, Appeal Reference  APP/K3605/W/22/3290400
 
An appeal has been lodged in response to the refusal of planning application 2020/3289, which was for a roof extension involving an increase in roof ridge height of 2.1m to create 1 additional dwelling incorporating front balcony, bin and cycle stores and alterations to fenestration following removal of existing external staircase.
TRG is planning to submit a third-party representation in respect of this application to alter the size and appearance of this building which has been nominated for local listing.
Residents can make representations to the Inspector at APP/K3605/W/22/3290400. The closing date for comments is 30th June 2022.
 
  1.  34 Queens Road, Weybridge, KT13 0AU 2022/0944
The application is to demolish a 4-bedroom detached house and replace it with a four-storey building (described as 3 storeys with a flat in the roof space!) providing 10 apartments with parking for 11 cars.  
TRG does not intend to make a submission on this application as it is outside and a little away from the Triangle.
Residents have expressed concerns that the height, bulk and mass of the proposed 4 storey building will have a detrimental impact on the amenity currently enjoyed by residents of the single storey building at 32 Queens Road as well as those living in Brackenhurst, the neighbouring property in St George's Avenue.
The developers claim that the proposal is not sufficiently viable to allow affordable housing.
The closing date for comments is 9th June 2022.

TRG has submitted a third-party representation in respect of this appeal against refusal by Elmbridge of an outline application for a detached two-storey building to provide 4 flats with no off-street parking.
The appellant has requested that the appeal be conducted through Written Representations. (Closing date for submissions 31st May 2022)
 
  1.  Application 2021/4385, 3 Beacon Mews, South Road, Weybridge, KT13 9DZ
 
21 objections have been lodged against this application for a first-floor extension with roof terrace to create an additional flat. Neither of the two apartments would have off-street parking
The closing date for comments was 25th March 2022 but residents can submit their views until the Committee is held. No date for that meeting has yet been scheduled.

  1. Land North West Of Campbell Cottage And 1 Beacon Mews South Road Weybridge Surrey KT13 9DX  (Application 2020/3188, Appeal Reference APP/K3605/W/21/3286858)
 
The application was for outline permission for a detached two-storey building to provide offices for use by the visually impaired. No off-street parking was proposed.
Following refusal at the Planning Committee on 1st October 2021, an appeal was lodged. TRG made a submission before the cut-off date of 7th April 2022.
No decision has yet been announced.
 
  1.  Number 6 Pine Grove
 
In response to its request that this elegant Victorian be listed locally, TRG has received the following reply from Surrey County Council’s Historic Buildings Officer:
I note that Historic England have been asked to assess this building for listing, and if that is the case their assessment and recommendation will be made in due course.  Elmbridge also has a local list, which I am reviewing as part of a Surrey-wide project.  Nominations from the public were sought towards the end of last year, however as this has now closed I am not able to take any new nominations at this stage. If a planning application is submitted, including for its demolition and redevelopment, the building’s heritage value would be taken into account by the planning officer at that point, and factored into the decision making accordingly.  The local list will also be periodically reviewed
 
 
  1. Annual General Meeting- REMINDER!
 
The TRG AGM will be held on 21st June 2022 at 20.00 hours at 34 Princes Road, Weybridge in order to:
- Receive the committee’s report
- Elect the committee
= Decide on any resolution duly submitted to the meeting (see below)
Any member may propose a resolution at the AGM provided that the resolution is signed by three other residents and is sent to trgweybridge@gmail.com at least 14 days before the date of the Meeting.
The committee or any three residents may propose one or more candidates to serve as committee members providing written notice of the proposal, supported by each candidate’s signed agreement to serve if elected, is sent to trgweybridge@gmail.com not less than 14 days before the AGM.
The current committee will be standing for re-election.
The candidates receiving the most votes shall be declared elected.

  1. Weybridge Jubilee Fair and Arts Festival, 25th June 2022, Churchfields Recreation Ground, Weybridge from 12:00-18:00.
 
The Weybridge Jubilee Fair and Arts Festival will held on June 25th.  The Weybridge Society and the Weybridge Town Business Group are combining to honour the Queen’s seventy years of service and launch the Weybridge Arts Festival at the Weybridge Community Fair by bringing together schools, community organisations, charities and churches to offer a day of celebration, fun, activity, music & the arts.  Brooklands Museum will be exhibiting some of their vintage cars and we will also be holding a dog show which we expect will draw much interest. The event is being held on the Churchfields Recreation Park in the centre of Weybridge and run from noon to 6pm. It will be covered by Brooklands Radio and will receive extensive publicity.
 
We hope that residents will turn out in good numbers.
 
The Organising Team is seeking marshals for 25th June 2022 to direct traffic onto, around and off the site, ensure safety of attendees and assist with the smooth running of the day. If you are willing to volunteer, please email chairman@weybridgesociety.org.uk
