Training for Triathlon can really help your running. You can build your core strength and endurance and reduce your risk of injury from too much running training.
Many Barrow Runners are keen Triathletes and Barrow Runners can attend any Charnwood Triathlon Club training sessions. At present swim sessions are run on Thursday Evening 7.45pm at Welbeck College coached by Kirsty Hillier and we would hope to have further sessions running in the future.
There is a bike ride from B&Q most Saturdays from 9.30 am. We generally do around 35 miles in 2 to 2.5 hours. An event invite is issued on the Charnwood Triathlon Club Facebook page confirming the ride is on. It's also worth joining the Facebook Group to see who's doing what.
There are a number of popular triathlons locally. There are sprints at East Leake and Southwell twice a year, and others at Desford and Nottingham. There are events at Rutland water like the Dambuster and Vitruvian and in Nottingham there is the Outlaw and Half Outlaw. We have also often had teams at the Club Relays in Nottingham. So there are plenty of events to plan for.
If you would like more information or just want to chat about Triathlon you can contact Chris Trzcinski or Steven Kenny and we would be pleased to help.
