Welcome to the first Scottish Dental Newsletter

Derek Richards, Editor-in-ChiefThe Scottish Dental Website was developed several years ago to collate relevant information for the dental teams in Scotland that is scattered about the web.  While the site has thousands of visitors we realise that not everyone is a regular reader. Consequently we are providing a regular newsletter to highlight key documents and resources that have changed in during the previous quarter.

If you like it, please share with your colleagues, and encourage them to sign up via the website.  If you discover it is not for you, unsubscribing is only a click away (at the foot of the page).

Back to the Future?

On the 15th September the Scottish Government launched its consultation document on the Future of Oral Health.

The document highlights improvements in Oral Health and Services provision that have followed the last Dental Action Plan published in 2005 and highlights 33 proposals for possible changes to the existing systems and structures.

There is a focus on general dental services but plenty of opportunity to feedback on other aspects of dentistry.  Eleven roadshows are planned across Scotland to explain the strategic drivers and gather the views of the dental profession.
