Conquer a Genre Winter Reading Challenge for all ages: December 1–February 28
Winter Reading Programs: Through February 28. This winter we invite you to snuggle up with multiple books in a single genre! Read or listen to books and earn books and raffle tickets for grand prizes including:
  • Youngsters: $60 gift card to the Lake Forest Book Store OR a 200-piece Tinkertoy Building Set
  • Youth: $60 gift card to Lake Forest Book Store
  • Teen: Book of the Month Club or a Nintendo Switch
  • Adult: $60 gift card to Lake Forest Book Store

Teen Trivia Night: Thursday, December 16, 7:00 pm. Join us for a Kahoot trivia night on all things Harry Potter. The player with the most points wins a gift card! Register today

LEGO Ornament Challenge
LEGO Ornament Challenge: December 1–31. 
  1. Reserve your bag of LEGOs: Register today
  2. Starting December 1, visit the Children's Library to pick up your LEGO bag.
  3. Use the Library LEGOs or your own to build a festive holiday ornament.
  4. When you are done creating, submit your LEGO ornament to the Children's Library by December 31 to be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a LEGO kit.

Gingerbread House STEAM Challenge for Grades K–4: Tuesday, December 7, 4:00–5:00 pm -or- Wednesday, December 8, 7:00–8:00 pm. Use your math, engineering, and financial literacy skills to create and decorate a sturdy gingerbread house on a budget. Register today
