Mark your calendars for the Capitol Hill BID's 2017 Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, February 28th. This year's meeting will be held at Hill Center (921 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE) at 8:00AM and will include a breakfast buffet.
We are honored to welcome Mayor Muriel Bowser as this year's keynote speaker! Join us as we reflect on the past year and get a preview of upcoming BID initiatives, including our 5-year BID renewal.
Be sure to keep an eye out for your proxy ballots. The ballots, along with an announcement flyer, will be mailed to BID Members (property owners and tenants) next week. It's imperative that you return your proxy ballots in order for us to properly conduct business at the Annual Meeting.
Last weekend, our city was flooded with people traveling from near and far to attend the Inauguration on Friday and the Women's March on Saturday. If you were in town, you know that many businesses had lines out the door and masses of people were out and about on Pennsylvania Ave, Barracks Row, Eastern Market and everywhere in between.
It was all hands on deck for our Clean Team and Safety Ambassadors to make sure Capitol Hill stayed clean and safe throughout the weekend. Our three Safety Ambassadors (India, Michael and Alan) worked along with 12 of our Clean Team members.
Our Ambassadors handed out pedestrian maps and answered questions for attendees while our Clean Team stayed on top of the overabundance of trash in the neighborhood. 370 bags of trash were collected on Friday, 450 on Saturday and 375 on Sunday. It was a group effort and we're so thankful for our teams who worked hard over the weekend!
Join the BID and the Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL) as we debut the winning designs from our 2016 Banner Contest! The celebration will be held at the Eastern Market Metro Plaza on Thursday, February 2nd at 12pm.
Enjoy light refreshments and meet the local artists who captured the beauty of Capitol Hill and all it has to offer.
The winning designs will be hung on over 100 light poles throughout the neighborhood for all to enjoy. Hope to see you there!
Attention, BID members! The video for our upcoming 5-year BID Renewal is currently in production, and we want your input. If you'd like to share how the BID has positively impacted your business and Capitol Hill, we want to hear from you!
A little bit of background about the BID Renewal Process: The city law establishing Business Improvement Districts requires all BIDs to renew every five years by submitting a business plan and participating in a hearing before the DC Council. The Capitol Hill BID is renewing for the third time. The renewal allows us to continue the safety and hospitality, maintenance and beautification, transportation, homeless services and marketing programs that the BID currently provides and add new programs as determined by the BID Board.
If you would like to be interviewed for the upcoming BID Renewal video, please contact Patty Brosmer at 202-842-3333 ext. 11 or email@example.com. Filming will take place over the next 2-3 weeks.
