CHAMPS JANUARY QUARTERLY MEETING TONIGHT!

Join CHAMPS members as we kick off a new calendar year with our January quarterly meeting TONIGHT from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at The Residence at Eastern Market (777 C St SE)! 

Commander Kane, Metropolitan Police Department First District Commander, will join as a guest speaker for an update on MPD initiatives in the neighborhood. The short program will begin at approximately 6:45 PM.

The meeting is also a chance to connect with new and long-time business and community colleagues over light refreshments and hear about CHAMPS efforts, initiatives, and plans for 2020!

DDOT SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION

The Hill is Home published a great reminder about the District Department of Transportation's (DDOT) upcoming sidewalk repairs in and around the neighborhood.

Citywide Sidewalk Restoration projects around Capitol Hill:

  • D Street NE, between 4th Street NE and 5th Street NE
  • 5th Street NE, between D Street NE and E Street NE

LEARN THE ART OF DOUGHNUT DECORATION

Ever wondered what goes into crafting America’s signature treat? Now you can learn at District Doughnut

Beginning with the signature vanilla bean dough, class members learn the basics of doughnut finishing. Custom decorate doughnuts using a variety of recipes including strawberry jam, mocha glaze, and homemade marshmallow.

Each member will get to decorate and take home their own dozen doughnuts! Class are available January 22 or 29 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, and February 1 or 8 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

REMINDER: NO BID SERVICES FOR MLK JR. DAY

As we prepare to celebrate the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, please remember that there will be no BID services provided on Monday, January 20. This is one of only four days throughout the year when no BID services are provided.

Services will resume on Tuesday, January 21.
