Well, we’ve made it to about the halfway mark of winter. Thanks to the companionship of our pets and the responsibility of managing our herds, winter is that much shorter. It won’t be long before our pets and large animals are enjoying the outdoors in more comfort. This is the time of year to plan and think about the health of our pets and large animals for the coming year.

This newsletter tells you a little more about our newly started Equine Practice; Fear-Free visits for your dogs and cats; and Dental Care, since February is National Pet Dental Health Month. We trust you find the content informative and helpful!

Hometown Veterinary Clinic Provides a Full Range of Equine Practice Services

Horses are beautiful, hard-working and intelligent animals and horse-owners are a special breed. Our doctors of veterinary medicine will help you maintain and improve their health.

We visit you and your horse to observe, diagnose and provide treatment. We also provide consultation and rehabilitation services. Our ambulatory care includes procedures and advanced medical technology you’d expect from an equine hospital but we provide this care right in your stable.

Fear-Free Vet Visits

A yearly visit to your family vet is as essential as food, water and love. Yet, we notice lots of folks wait more than a year for their yearly visits. Why? Our guess is this has something to do with an increased level of stress around your pet’s health visit. If this is the case, we encourage you to consider “fear-free” vet visits. Simply put, “fear-free” vet visits are designed to reduce or remove fear triggers for the pet, leading to a more accepting patient and a better visit.
